|Give a child a scholarship at no cost to you!|
Welcome to the Scholarships for Kids website! We appreciate your interest in helping students and encourage you to support Alabama’s new K5-12 scholarship program.
Created as part of the Alabama Accountability Act of 2013, the scholarship program allows donors to claim a tax credit against their state income tax for up to 50% of their liability, with a maximum tax credit of $7,500 for individuals. Scholarships for Kids was formed in order to serve as a scholarship granting organization (SGO) under the Act. As an approved SGO, Scholarships for Kids uses donated funds to give children in our state access to educational opportunities that they otherwise would not have.
Scholarships are granted directly to participating schools for the benefit of eligible students identified by the school. We do not accept scholarship applications directly from parents or guardians. If interested, parents should contact one of the participating schools to apply for admission and should inquire about Scholarships for Kids.

Scholarships for Kids is a nonprofit organization that provides educational tax credit scholarships to K5-12 students who come from lower-income families. These scholarships allow these students to attend a participating private school that may better suit their individual needs, an option which already is available to families of greater financial means.
Scholarships for Kids, Inc. was created to address some of the enormous educational challenges faced by children in Alabama who live in or near poverty. Our program is designed to lead the way in implementing this important legislation through an ethical, transparent, and proven approach.
Scholarships for Kids recognizes that different children learn in different ways and that our collective struggle is to help the students who often are at the greatest disadvantage. Our desire at Scholarships for Kids is to be a partner in the larger solution.
We are just getting started and hope that you will partner with us over the long term to help children succeed!
